What is the Hazardous Materials Register?
Under various jurisdictions you as a business owner/operator are required to have a "list" of all materials stored and/or used at your workplace that are designated hazardous substances and/or dangerous goods. This list has to contain certain substance detail and must indicate the maximum quantity that you store at your workplace.
What is a Hazardous Substance?
A hazardous substance is a substance/material that has known health effects against humans at work; it is also a substance/material that is listed in the Hazardous Substance Information System (HSIS) as maintained by Safe Work Australia.
What is a Dangerous Goods?
A dangerous goods is a substance/material that poses a threat to people, property or the environment via its chemical or physical properties; in that it explodes, corrodes, flammable, toxic, etc. A dangerous goods is also a substance/material that is listed in the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road or Rail (ADG Code).
How do I identfy a substance as a hazardous substance or a dangerous goods?
Your primary source of substance/goods information is the substance/material's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). The MSDS is available from your supplier or the manufacturer of the substance/goods.
I have purchased and downloaded CIM Touch, how many devices can I install it on?
